Six week camp | Mondays - Thursdays

Sessions

All on-ice and off-ice sessions are 1 hour long, totaling 24 sessions over the course of the six week camp.

Goalie Sessions

There will be eight (8) separate dedicated goalie sessions on top of the above regular session times. The eight (8) sessions will come over a two-week period during the June 2 - July 17 timeframe. We are still working on when in that timeframe it will be as our goalie instructor, Hunter Miska, is finalizing his schedule.

Strength Builder XL - 14U & Older

The Strength Builder XL program is an additional off-ice workout program. With HWPO training in the morning, SB XL will be afternoon off-ice workouts. This add-on gives players the opportunity to workout twice-a-day for four days a week, as well as get personalized strength building workouts for at-home personal use. This program is designed by former Avalanche Strength & Conditioning coach, Tim Martin.

Strength Builder XL sessions will be 6pm-8pm in the RCS Weight Room & Gym.

Registration Limits

Each age group will be caped at 20 players and four (4) goalies.

If necessary, we will consider adding additional ice sessions to accommodate more groups. We will not dilute training by adding more than 25 players per group.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is HWPO Hockey Training only RCS Hockey players?

NOPE! HWPO Hockey Training is open to all players that fit the age requirements. You do not need to be "committed" to play or currently playing for RCS Hockey to participate. HWPO Hockey Training is committed to improving all our athletes no matter where they play during the regular season. All are welcome.

Is there a skill level requirement for HWPO Hockey Training?

The base skill level to participate in camp is at least two (2) seasons of sanctioned USA Hockey play. This can be at the recreation or travel level.

Is this a learn to play camp?

No, HWPO Hockey Training is not a learn to play or learn to skate camp. Prior hockey experience is required to participate.

Is HWPO Hockey Training co-ed?

YES! All are welcome at our summer camp as long as they fit the age & skill level requirements. Locker room accommodations will be made for both genders as to provide equal treatment for all participants.

What does off-ice training look like for 10U, 12U & 14U?

As these age groups are experiencing the most drastic growth changes with their bodies, off-ice training for these groups focuses on coordination. Before we move any weights we need to first learn how to move our bodies appropriately & efficiently. This will be our main focus with these age groups. We believe this is paramount to injury prevention and the foundation for developing skill.
